She finished her master’s in data science at Kent State University.

EVAN CARR

(’18 mathematics and economics) received Program funding to work on a paper examining the effect of public venture capital funds on firm entry and success.

STEPHEN SOKO

(’18 economics) developed a data set to examine asset growth of members of the U.S. Congress. Received a scholarship to attend the U of I Law School.

JOSHUA LIMAYE

(’18 economics, data science minor) worked on a paper on the neighborhood effects of public housing projects.

CHRIS MANDT

(’18 animal science and economics) received Program funding for developing a tool to help with data set development for a project that will measure college quality.

LEAH GRETEMAN

(’18 economics) worked on a study examining the factors influencing the entry of opera houses in Iowa between 1880-1940.

YINING LU

(’18 economics) evaluated the possibility of an index fund aimed at emerging market stock indexes. Attending graduate school at Tsinghua Univ in China.

CATHERINE THOMPSON

(’18 economics and mathematics) initiated construction of a data set on the distribution of household wealth and school completion that became the foundation

of the project by fellow student, Julian Duran.
